It's not like I have a manifesto or anything. I just believe in good art. I could say design, but art is a part of design. Shape, color, texture, words as symbols as forms. A magazine spread with photography contains art, whether it's a snapshot or a calendar shot or a table setting in sepia tones. What I've learned, from hanging gallery shows to creating advertising banners on the web, is that one person cannot do it all.

So you want a website. You need design (you really do). You need programming (it's like the engine). You need everyone you know to know the URL by heart, ready to reel off in the subway or the boardroom. You think that takes one person?

Nope. So this I know. I also know a good programmer (excellent, really). I know a few good photographers. I know design. I know Photoshop like the back of my hand, and despite everything I believe in a web-safe palette. I know web that works (If you want flashy, fine. We can find someone else to do that. But no dancing monkeys. Ever.), and I know the people who taught me that.

I work best as part of a team, where ideas can bounce around like silly putty and we break for lunch. I like feedback almost better than chocolate, the bitterer the better. I'm young and idealistic and I still think that a high level of expectation is not too much to ask.

So maybe it is a manifesto. Give me a ring, we'll talk about it.
